Vacant sites under Lands Department for short-term uses available online

The Lands Department (LandsD) announced today (November 28) that a list of government sites under its management and open for applications from non-government organisations (NGOs) and community bodies for short-term uses is now available online.

The list has been uploaded onto the GeoInfo Map to facilitate public access.

These sites, including vacant school premises, are under LandsD management and may be suitable for temporary uses by way of a short-term tenancy, which may be granted directly to an applying NGO subject to the applicant securing policy support from the relevant policy bureaux. If the application is approved, nominal rent may be charged subject to policy support from the relevant policy bureau, or alternatively full market rent would normally be charged.

The site details will be updated in accordance with the latest position. Interested NGOs or their representatives are advised to contact the relevant District Lands Office for up-to-date information on any particular premises on the site list before submitting applications.

Guidelines for application for use of vacant government sites (including vacant school premises) for short-term community, institutional or non-profit-making purposes can be downloaded from the LandsD's website.
