EMSD urges public to stop using Fortress ceramic heater (with photos)

The Electrical and Mechanical Services Department today (April 9) urged the public to stop using a Fortress ceramic heater with model number FCHI2012 and contact Fortress for free replacement.

A recent safety test revealed that some parts of the model may overheat and cause fire under abnormal operating conditions.

The heater was sold at Fortress stores between last November and March this year.  Fortress will offer free replacement service to affected consumers, and post notices announcing the free replacement service in newspapers today and tomorrow (April 10).

For enquiries, please call Fortress's customer service hotline at 2606 8578 or 2606 8678 between 9am and 6pm from Mondays to Saturdays.
