The Civil Engineering and Development Department will arrange the unloading of precast units at a works area about one kilometre northeast of the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from tomorrow (January 3) to January 13 for seawall construction under the Wan Chai Development Phase II project. Yellow marker buoys fitted with yellow lights will be laid to mark the boundary of the works area. A location map is attached for reference.
The works will be carried out from a flotilla of vessels comprising one semi-submersible barge, two crane barges, one work boat, three tug boats and two guard boats. Vessels engaged in the operations will display signals as prescribed under international and local regulations.
The unloaded precast units will be towed to a site in the vicinity of Expo Drive East. Vessels navigating in the vicinity should proceed with caution.
