Tenders invited for construction of Yuet Wah Street pedestrian linkage

The Civil Engineering and Development Department (CEDD) today (December 14) invited tenders for the contract to construct a pedestrian linkage system connecting Yuet Wah Street with Kwun Tong Road in Kwun Tong.

The works mainly comprise:

* construction of a 60-metre-long elevated covered footbridge with a staircase and a lift tower with two lifts;

* construction of a 50m-long at-grade covered pedestrian walkway leading to Entrance D2 of Kwun Tong Station of the Mass Transit Railway (MTR);

* replacement of an existing staircase to Entrance D2 of Kwun Tong MTR Station with a lift tower with one lift; and

* ancillary works including footpath, geotechnical, retaining wall, slope, drainage, landscaping, electrical and mechanical works.

The works are scheduled to commence in late March or early April 2013 and will take about 25 months to complete.

The CEDD has commissioned Meinhardt Infrastructure and Environment Limited to design and supervise the works. Interested contractors may obtain the tender forms and other particulars from the company at 4/F, Wah Ming Centre, 421 Queen's Road West, Sheung Wan.

The invitation to tender was gazetted today. The closing time for the tender is noon on January 25, 2013. Tender submissions should be placed in the Government Secretariat Tender Box at G/F, East Wing, Central Government Offices, 2 Tim Mei Avenue, Tamar.
