Shenzhou-9 manned space docking delegation briefed on major developments on waterfront (with photos/video)

The delegation of the Tiangong-1/Shenzhou-9 manned space docking and rendezvous mission toured Victoria Harbour today (August 13) following a tea gathering with the women's sector.

Before the tour, the Acting Director of Civil Engineering and Development, Mr Adrian Ng, briefed the delegation on the development of major infrastructure projects along the waterfront of Victoria Harbour, including the Kai Tak Development and the cruise terminal, the proposed development at the harbourfront of Central and Wan Chai, and the West Kowloon Cultural District Development. The delegation was also briefed on the history of land reclamation in Hong Kong.

Accompanied by Mr Ng, the delegation toured the harbour for about one hour.

During the tour, the delegation saw landmark buildings along the waterfront including the Tsim Sha Tsui Clock Tower, the Hong Kong Cultural Centre, the Hong Kong Space Museum, the International Commerce Centre, the International Finance Centre and the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.

In the afternoon the delegation attended a farewell ceremony at Government House before leaving for Macao at the Hong Kong-Macau Ferry Terminal in Sheung Wan, concluding their four-day visit to the territory.
