Accident in Anderson Road Quarry, Sau Mau Ping

The Acting Director of Civil Engineering and Development, Mr Adrian Ng, expressed condolence to the family of a worker who died in an industrial accident at Anderson Road Quarry in Sau Mau Ping today (December 22). The Civil Engineering and Development Department (CEDD) has contacted the family and will offer necessary assistance.

At around 1.30 pm today, a contractor was dismantling a 5-metre high unused rock crushing plant within the Anderson Road Quarry site. It collapsed during the process and three workers were injured as a result. The workers were sent to United Christian hospital for treatment. One of them was later certified dead and the other two are being treated.

CEDD and the Labour Department are investigating the cause of the accident. The site works have been suspended.
