Mandatory recall of three models of British Design extension unit (with photo)

The Electrical and Mechanical Services Department (EMSD) today (February 25) urged consumers to stop using three models (UK03, UK06 and UK104S) of British Design extension unit for safety reasons.

A recent market product inspection by EMSD revealed that the internal power cables of the British Design extension units might have an overheating problem during use, posing a fire risk to users.

The supplier, Phos Trading Company Limited, undertook a product recall of the concerned British Design extension units and placed recall notices in newspaper today.

According to the information provided by the supplier, the British Design extension units were supplied to DSC Stores between October 2009 and January this year.
