Chai Wan Public Fill Barging Point to commence operation next Monday

The Chai Wan Public Fill Barging Point at 11 Ka Yip Street, Chai Wan, will come into operation from next Monday (December 22).

A spokesman for the Civil Engineering and Development Department (CEDD) said today (December 19) that the new permanent facility would replace the existing Quarry Bay Temporary Public Filling Barging Point to receive and handle the inert construction waste (also known as public fill) generated on Hong Kong Island, and to deliver the public fill by barges to temporary fill banks.

Existing valid Disposal Delivery Forms for Quarry Bay Temporary Public Filling Barging Point can be used at the Chai Wan Public Fill Barging Point.

The Chai Wan Public Fill Barging Point will open from 8.30am to 6pm (Monday to Saturday) and will close on Sundays, public holidays and Lunar New Year's Eve.
