Locations of significant residual landslide risks arising from June 7 severe rainstorm (An update) (with photo)

Further to the 12 locations of significant residual landslide risks released yesterday (June 12), the Geotechnical Engineering Office (GEO) of the Civil Engineering and Development Department has revealed another location at Tsing Chin Street, Tsing Yi.  Signs of movement were noted on the natural terrain above the intersection of Tsing Yi Road West and Tsing Chin Street.  Detailed inspection of the distressed area is being carried out.

The GEO has given recommendations on temporary closure of a park and one lane of a section of Tsing Chin Street.

A spokesman for the GEO reiterated, "The public should stay vigilant and keep away from areas where there are signs of landslips and report to the Police immediately."

"When the Landslip Warning is in force, the public should observe government's warning messages and advice," he said.

The GEO will continue to carry out inspections at landslide locations and provide expert advice to other departments on emergency repair works.
