Civil Engineering and Development Department seeks community views on greening

To facilitate its formulation of Greening Master Plans (GMPs) for Kowloon City, Sham Shui Po and Kwun Tong, the Civil Engineering and Development Department (CEDD) will organise forums next month (June) jointly with Kowloon City, Sham Shui Po and Kwun Tong District Participation Groups to collect local views on greening.

The master plans will define the overall greening framework of the areas and serve as a guide for those involved in planning, design and implementation of greening works.

CEDD has completed the master plans for Tsim Sha Tsui and Central and about 1,250 trees and 300,000 shrubs have been planted. The master plans for Mong Kok, Yau Ma Tei, Sheung Wan, Wan Chai and Causeway Bay have also been completed.  The greening works of these districts will begin in September for completion at the end of 2009.
