Ancillary road works in Ki Lun Tsuen, Yuen Long gazetted

The Government gazetted today (November 10) the authorisation of the proposed ancillary road works in connection with drainage improvement works in Ki Lun Tsuen, Yuen Long under the Roads (Works, Use and Compensation) Ordinance (Chapter 370).

Drainage Services Department (DSD) proposes to construct new roads, footpaths, maintenance accesses, pedestrian crossings and vehicular crossings in connection with the drainage improvement works in Ki Lun Tsuen. 

Section of the existing roads and footpaths will be temporarily or permanently closed, demolished or reconstructed. However, pedestrian and vehicular access would be maintained during construction. 

The works is scheduled to begin in August 2007 for completion in end 2009. The estimated construction cost for the ancillary road works is about $12 million.

Upon its completion, the roads and footpaths will serve as local public access and will be used by DSD as access to maintain the drainage facilities.
