Road works for drainage improvement in northern NT gazetted

The Government today (June 2) gazetted the road works ancillary to drainage improvement works in Northern New Territories.

The works project, to be undertaken by the Drainage Services Department, includes the construction of new roads and reconstruction of footpaths, footbridges and vehicular bridges for maintenance and local access purposes in connection with the improvement works to the future river channels in Kau Lung Hang, Nam Wa Po and Tai Hang Areas. 

Section of existing roads and footpaths will be temporarily or permanently closed, demolished or reconstructed in the construction period.  Pedestrian and vehicular access would be maintained during construction.

Upon completion, the proposed road works and the bridges will provide local access to the public and will be used by the department as access to maintain the drainage facilities.
