Slope safety exhibition opens at Maritime Square, Tsing Yi Island


The Geotechnical Engineering Office (GEO) of the Civil Engineering and Development Department will launch a two-day exhibition on slope safety and maintenance in Tsing Yi tomorrow (March 17).

The exhibition aims to convey messages to visitors about the importance of slope safety and proper maintenance of slopes through display panels, video show and an information kiosk.

Open from 11am to 9pm, the exhibition will be held at Level One of "Fantasy Island", Maritime Square. Information on landslip warning messages, landslip warning signs, evidence of landslip danger and precautionary measures will be on display.

A geotechnical engineer from the GEO's Community Advisory Unit will also conduct a "meet-the-public" session from 2pm to 5pm on Saturday (March 18) at the Tsing Yi venue to answer questions on slope safety and slope maintenance. Quiz games will be held at the same time.

The exhibition will move to Level 7 of the Metropolis Mall, Hung Hom from Sunday to Tuesday (March 19 to 21).
