The Electrical and Mechanical Services Department (EMSD) today (May 31) urged consumers, for safety reasons, to stop using immediately the AC adaptor of "Instant-Dict" Xplore V98 personal digital assistant (PDA).
Acting on a complaint, EMSD found that the AC adaptor in question had signs of overheat and electrical short-circuit fault. The supplier, Group Sense PDA Limited, had immediately arranged a recall of the AC adaptor.
The AC adaptors were supplied with "Instant-Dict" Xplore V98 PDAs since April this year. The model of these AC adaptors, which marked with "GSL" and "Made in China", is KG-5800.
Consumers are advised to return these adaptors to the supplier as soon as practicable for a new replacement.
