The Electrical and Mechanical Services Department (EMSD) will stage a lift and escalator safety carnival in Diamond Hill with six organisations to promote the safe use of lifts and escalators tomorrow (July 13) afternoon.
This is the third consecutive year that EMSD has partnered with the Airport Authority Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Housing Authority, Kowloon-Canton Railway Corporation, the Lift and Escalator Contractors Association, MTR Corporation and the Hong Kong Association of Property Management Companies to further enhance public education on this front.
The carnival, a highlight of the Lift and Escalator Safety Campaign, will include game stalls and a variety show featuring performances by pop singers and artists. A prize presentation ceremony for the "Lift and Escalator Safety Slogan Competition" will also take place with an exhibition of the winning entries.
Members of the public are welcome to join the carnival which will be held tomorrow from 12.30 pm to 5 pm at Stars Atrium, Level 1, Plaza Hollywood, Diamond Hill.
The "Lift and Escalator Safety Campaign" is one of the component programmes of the "E&M Safety Campaign" 2002 which is co-organised by EMSD and key organisations in the trade. The other programmes on gas safety, electrical safety and energy efficiency will be rolled out later this year.
