Central Pier No. 9 to come into service next Thursday

The Government announced today (April 18) that the Central Pier No. 9 would be open to the public next Thursday (April 26).

Adjacent to the new Star Ferry Pier in Central, the Central Pier No. 9 provides six groups of public landing steps and will take over the marine operation currently at Queen's Pier following its opening. The onshore facilities of Queen's Pier, however, will remain available for public use.

The Marine Department and Transport Department will issue respective marine and traffic notices informing the public and marine transport service operators of the concerned arrangement.

There is also a newly built covered walkway linking the Central Pier No. 9 and Central Terminal Building. Appropriate signages at Queen's Pier, nearby roads and footbridges will be provided to direct pedestrians and drivers to the Central Pier No. 9. Public transport facilities currently serving the area of the Central Pier No. 9 will remain unchanged.
