The Government today (October 27) announced the appointment of four new non-executive directors to the Board of the Urban Renewal Authority (URA).
The newly appointed non-executive directors are Mr Walter Chan Kar-lok, Dr Ng Ka-chui, Mr Aaron Wan Chi-keung and Mr Stephen Yip Moon-wah. Their term of appointment is from November 1, 2006, to November 30, 2008.
"The appointment of the four new non-executive directors will further strengthen the URA Board in steering the URA to meet the challenges ahead," a government spokesman said.
The URA Board now has 18 non-official non-executive directors (including the chairman), coming from a wide cross-section of the community including the banking, business, academic, tourism, property development, legal, surveying and social work sectors. They are appointed on an ad personam basis. The membership of the URA Board is set out below.
