Appointment of Executive Director of the Urban Renewal Authority

A Government spokesman announced today (October 31) that the Chief Executive had, on the recommendation of a selection panel, appointed Mr Quinn Law Yee-kwan as the Executive Director (Commercial and Corporate) of the Urban Renewal Authority (URA) for a term of three years. The appointment will take effect tomorrow (November 1).

A consultancy firm was commissioned by the Government to conduct an open recruitment exercise for the Executive Director (Commercial and Corporate) post of the URA. A number of suitable candidates were shortlisted for interview by a selection panel. The selection panel comprised representatives of the Housing, Planning and Lands Bureau, Financial Services and the Treasury Bureau and the URA.

"Mr Law is recommended by the Selection Panel as the most suitable candidate for the post," the spokesman said.

The Executive Director (Commercial and Corporate) is to deputise for the Managing Director of the URA in commercial operations, business strategy formulation and financial and human resources planning and management.
