The Housing, Planning and Lands Bureau (HPLB) will hold four public forums on the Public Consultation on Mandatory Building Inspection in various districts starting this Thursday (November 10).
The forums are part of the public consultation exercise launched by HPLB last month to gauge the community’s views on the implementation details of a proposed mandatory building inspection scheme, enhancing window safety options and support measures.
Under the proposed mandatory building inspection scheme, owners of private buildings aged 30 years or above are required to engage qualified inspectors to inspect their buildings every seven years and undertake necessary repair works. The consultation also seeks the public’s views on two mandatory options to enhance window safety regular window inspection and one-off window inspection.
People are welcome to attend the four public forums. Details are as follows:

The Public Consultation on Mandatory Building Inspection will last until January 31, next year. Copies of the consultation document can be obtained from HPLB, the Buildings Department and District Offices.
