Expert Group on Hong Kong/Guangdong Town Planning and Development to meet in Zhuhai tomorrow

The Expert Group on Hong Kong/Guangdong Town Planning and Development under the Hong Kong/Guangdong Co-opertaion Joint Conference will hold its second meeting in Zhuhai tomorrow (December 15).

The meeting will discuss two items of co-operation: the Planning Study on the Co-ordinated Development of the Greater Pearl River Delta Township and the Hong Kong/Guangdong Urban Planning Information Hub.

During the meeting, group leaders of both sides - Hong Kong's Permanent Secretary for Housing, Planning and Lands, Mrs Rita Lau and Director of Guangdong Provincial Department of Construction, Mr Lao Yingxun, will sign a co-operation agreement on the Greater PRD Planning Study. Hong Kong's Secretary for Housing, Planning and Lands, Mr Michael Suen, and Deputy Secretary General of Guangdong Provincial Government, Mr Tang Hao, will also attend the signing ceremony.

Attending the meeting will include representatives of the Hong Kong side, namely the Housing, Planning and Lands Bureau, Environment, Transport and Works Bureau, Hong Kong Guangdong Co-operation Co-ordination Unit, Transport Department, Environmental Protection Department, Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department and Planning Department. Representatives of the Guangdong side will come from Guangdong Provincial Department of Construction, relevant provincial departments and the town planning bureaus of the Pearl River Delta cities.

The expert group held its first meeting in November last year.
