Booklet to further explain Central reclamation

To further explain the Central Reclamation Phase III (CRIII) project, the Government has produced a bilingual booklet entitled "All About Central Reclamation Phase III".

Introducing the booklet today (December 18), the Permanent Secretary for Housing, Planning and Lands (Planning and Lands), Mrs Carrie Lam, said the comprehensive booklet, which offers a factual account of the CRIII, would facilitate public understanding of the project.

"The CRIII would provide land for the construction of the Central - Wan Chai Bypass. The planned area of 18 hectares is the minimum reclamation required for the key infrastructure," Mrs Lam said.

"The CRIII will alleviate traffic congestion and the land formed by the project will provide an excellent opportunity to create a promenade for public enjoyment," she said.

A total of 300,000 copies of the booklet produced by the Housing, Planning and Lands Bureau will be disseminated to members of the public in Central and Admiralty during rush hours tomorrow. Copies of the booklet will also be distributed to primary and secondary schools, youth centres, public libraries, professional bodies and green groups. The booklet will be available for collection at District Offices later.
