"Heritage Vogue ยท Hollywood Road" to return next month

     The "Heritage Vogue · Hollywood Road" will be held again on November 20, hosting an array of activities including guided tours, workshops, exhibitions, art, outdoor movie screenings, traditional culture and performances to promote conservation of historic buildings. Members of the public are welcome to join.
 
     Organised by the Commissioner for Heritage's Office (CHO) of the Development Bureau in collaboration with the Antiquities and Monuments Office (AMO), PMQ, Tai Kwun and Tung Wah Group of Hospitals, the "Heritage Vogue · Hollywood Road" is an event to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. The design concept of the event was created by the Hong Kong Design Institute.

     A spokesman for the CHO today (October 20) said, "'Heritage Vogue · Hollywood Road' will be extended from Hollywood Road to the Central and Western District this year, with activities to be held at 12 historic buildings for the public to experience the rich history, culture and arts ambience of the District."
 
     Historic buildings to host activities are Tai Kwun, PMQ, Man Mo Temple, Central Market, Chinese YMCA of Hong Kong Bridges Street Centre, Dr Sun Yat-sen Museum, the Fringe Club, Hong Kong City Hall, the Hong Kong Museum of Medical Sciences, Hong Kong News-Expo, The Helena May, and The Murray.
 
     The organisations that run the Batch I to IV projects of the Revitalising Historic Buildings Through Partnership Scheme (Revitalisation Scheme) will host various activities such as mini-exhibitions, workshops, games and more at the marquees at the Prison Yard of Tai Kwun to introduce the current uses and services of the revitalised historic buildings. The Tai Hang Fire Dragon Heritage Centre will present its signature fire dragon dance to mark the closing of the event.
 
     Highlights at other historic buildings include deTour 2022 Preview at PMQ, workshops and performances of traditional culture at Man Mo Temple, workshops and guided tours on arts and culture at Central Market, Dr Sun Yat-sen Museum Fun Day 2022 as well as heritage fashion parade, exhibitions and talks at the Fringe Club, exhibitions on heritage technology at Hong Kong City Hall, and a thematic exhibition at Hong Kong News-Expo.
 
     Tai Kwun, PMQ, Central Market, Chinese YMCA of Hong Kong Bridges Street Centre, Dr Sun Yat-sen Museum, the Fringe Club, the Hong Kong Museum of Medical Sciences, Hong Kong News-Expo, The Helena May, and The Murray will offer guided tour services.
 
     Tours of historical and cultural spots in the Central and Western District led by professionals from the AMO, the City University of Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Baptist University, the Chinese University of Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Design Institute, the Hong Kong Institute of Architectural Conservationists, the Hong Kong Institute of Architects, the Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors and the Hong Kong Art Gallery Association will also be available. Some of these tours will offer audio guides through a mobile app.
 
     Event route maps will be distributed at various locations in the territory from October 20 onwards. On the event day, the maps will be available at the marquee of the visitor information counter at the Prison Yard of Tai Kwun and all participating historic buildings. A set of magnetic badges featuring the 12 historic buildings has been prepared for the event. Visitors can collect a stamp print and a magnetic badge at the respective historic building for free on a first-come, first-served basis.
 
     The Batch I to IV projects of the Revitalisation Scheme participating in the event include the Tai O Heritage Hotel, Hong Kong Baptist University School of Chinese Medicine - Lui Seng Chun, Jao Tsung-I Academy, YHA Mei Ho House Youth Hostel, Green Hub, Stone Houses Family Garden, Viva Blue House, Hong Kong News-Expo, The HKFYG Leadership Institute, The Pokfulam Farm, the Tai Hang Fire Dragon Heritage Centre, and the Lady Ho Tung Welfare Centre Eco-Learn Institute.
 
     A free hop-on, hop-off bus service will be provided from noon to 8pm on the event day at a frequency of every five to 10 minutes from the following stops:
