Family member of Permanent Secretary for Development (Works) tests preliminarily positive for COVID-19

     A spokesman for the Development Bureau (DEVB) said today (June 19) that the wife of the Permanent Secretary for Development (Works), Mr Ricky Lau, tested preliminarily positive for COVID-19. Mr Lau tested negative after a COVID-19 rapid antigen test (RAT) today.

     Mrs Lau tested positive after a COVID-19 RAT this morning. Mr Lau and Mrs Lau are undergoing home quarantine in accordance with the guidelines of the Centre for Health Protection of the Department of Health. Mr Lau will work from home during the quarantine period.

     Mr Lau has regularly conducted COVID-19 RATs, and his test results were negative.

     The DEVB will continue to implement disease prevention measures vigorously, including requesting staff members to conduct RATs regularly, and has reminded all staff members to pay attention to personal hygiene and stay vigilant at all times. They should seek medical advice immediately and inform the DEVB if they are feeling unwell.
