LandsD to resume public services gradually

In view of the latest developments of the epidemic, the Lands Department (LandsD) today (March 30) announced that public services will gradually resume starting from April 1.

From April 1 to April 20, all LandsD offices will provide basic public services on a limited scale. Telephone enquiry services will be maintained during office hours, while services for receipt and delivery of documents at counters and collection of compensation for land resumption arranged by appointment will be provided between 1pm and 5pm from Monday to Friday. Other counter services, including counter enquiries, map sales, collection of compensation for land resumption without an appointment, depositing of land boundary plans and survey record plans and inspection of the full list of Authorised Land Surveyors, will continue to be suspended. Online services will be maintained as normal. Members of the public may continue to make enquiries or complaints through email.

Starting from April 21, the LandsD will fully resume public services. The LandsD will closely monitor the situation and continue to adopt social distancing and infection control measures.

The LandsD appeals to the public to minimise visits to its offices unless necessary. The public can file enquiries/complaints/requests for service online or through other electronic means, and purchase most map products from Hong Kong Map Service 2.0. As there may be a higher demand for public services at the beginning of the gradual resumption of public services, longer processing time may be needed. The department appeals for the understanding of members of the public.
