One of the exhibition’s highlights is a pottery model of a pavilion-style house from the early Eastern Han dynasty (AD 25-76), a grade-one national treasure. Unearthed at Xianglangang, Dongshan, Guangzhou in 1957, the pottery house model illustrates an architectural form with a combination of hip and gable roofs, featuring five tiers of eaves with curling ridge ends and round eaves-end tiles. It is symmetrical from front to back and left to right, with rooms, doors and windows arranged along two central axes.
