SDEV to visit Cambodia and Indonesia

The Secretary for Development, Mr Eric Ma, will tomorrow (February 26) lead a Hong Kong delegation to visit Phnom Penh in Cambodia, and Jakarta in Indonesia, to promote the development of professional services and business co-operation between Hong Kong and the two places.

During his visit, Mr Ma will deliver speeches at networking luncheons organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) and local business associations.

The delegation will meet representatives from a number of official bodies to learn about town planning, infrastructure and real estate development in Phnom Penh and Jakarta. Members will also have discussions with representatives from the local industrial and business sectors as well as Hong Kong businessmen on the business environment and opportunities for co-operation.

In addition, the delegation will visit various real estate and commercial development projects in the two cities.

The delegation will include government officials, a representative from the HKTDC, members of the Working Group on Professional Services under the Economic Development Commission, and representatives from the construction-related, legal, accounting and company secretary sectors.

Accompanying Mr Ma on the visit will be the Deputy Secretary for Development (Works), Mr Vincent Mak, and member of the Central Policy Unit Mr Lee Tak-keung.

Mr Ma will return to Hong Kong on the evening of March 3.
