SDEV begins visit to Singapore (13/01/2020)

The Secretary for Development, Mr Michael Wong (third left), began his visit programme in Singapore today (January 13). He met with the Chief Executive Officer of the Building and Construction Authority, Mr Hugh Lim (second right), to discuss issues relating to the adoption of innovative construction technologies and promotion of green buildings. The Permanent Secretary for Development (Works), Mr Lam Sai-hung (second left), and the Executive Director of the Building and Construction Authority, Mr Tai Lee Siang (third right), also attended the meeting.
The Secretary for Development, Mr Michael Wong (right), today (January 13) met with the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Housing and Development Board, Mr Fong Chun Wah (left), to learn more about the implementation strategy and experiences of Singapore in adopting modular integrated construction (MiC) in public housing projects, as well as how MiC improves building efficiency and quality.
The Secretary for Development, Mr Michael Wong (second right), visited a prefabrication fitting-out factory at Jurong Port in Singapore today (January 13) to gain a better understanding of the workflow and process of assembling free-standing modular integrated construction modules. The modular unit on the left in the picture has partly completed the basic interior fitting-out as well as the appliance and facilities installation.
