Lands Department re-enters lots in Tsam Chuk Wan

The Lands Department today (June 14) re-entered Lot Nos. 380, 381, 386, 388 and 407 in Demarcation District No. 256, Tsam Chuk Wan, Sai Kung, New Territories. The District Lands Office, Sai Kung has erected "Government Land" signs on the site.

The former owners of the lots have breached the conditions of the land lease concerned. Warning letters had been issued. However, the former owners failed to rectify the said breach. The Lands Department therefore, upon consideration of the legal advice obtained, decided to re-enter the lots.

Under section 8 of the Government Rights (Re-entry and Vesting Remedies) Ordinance, Cap. 126, the former owners may, within six months from the registration of the memorial of re-entry, petition the Chief Executive to grant relief against the re-entry, or apply to the Court of First Instance in its equitable jurisdiction for relief against the re-entry.
