Civil Engineering and Development Department awards contract on widening of Ping Ha Road

The Civil Engineering and Development Department (CEDD) today (March 27) awarded a $100 million contract for Ping Ha Road Improvement (Ha Tsuen Section) – Remaining Section.

The contract comprises widening and realignment of the section of Ping Ha Road between Sha Chau Lei and Hung Tin Road/Tin Ying Road, including widening of a vehicular bridge across an existing nullah, construction of noise barriers, retaining walls, footpaths, cycle tracks, stormwater drains, waterworks and landscaping works.

The main objective of the works is to increase the capacity of the Ha Tsuen section of Ping Ha Road so as to relieve traffic congestion.

The works will begin on March 30 and are scheduled for completion in about 28 months. The works will create about 116 jobs, comprising 100 for labourers and 16 for professional/technical staff.

The works have been designed by the Land Works Division, Civil Engineering and Development Department, which will also supervise the construction.
