Historic building drawing contest applications to close MondayBudding artists who want to tour historic buildings should join the drawing contest organised by the Development Bureau's Commissioner for Heritage's Office. Through drawing at one of the designated historic buildings, the Liu Man Shek Tong Ancestral Hall in Sheung Shui or the Central Police Station Compound, participants can explore the relationship between heritage and the city. Applications for the contest will close on Monday (March 9).
The drawing contest will be held at the Liu Man Shek Tong Ancestral Hall in Sheung Shui on March 21 and the Central Police Station Compound on March 28.
Each participant can submit one piece of artwork on the drawing paper provided by the organiser on the competition day. Participants have to bring their own drawing instruments and paint.
The competition is divided into two categories, one for ages six to 12 and the other for ages 13 to 18. Each category offers first, second and third prizes as well as 10 awards of merit.
Application forms are available at (www.heritage.gov.hk). Completed forms should be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org, faxed to 3590 5218 or mailed to Unit 1003, 10/F, Lemmi Centre, 50 Hoi Yuen Road, Kwun Tong, Kowloon, by March 9. "Application for the Historic Buildings Drawing Competition" should be marked on the envelope.
