Secretary for Development visits Yuen Long(with photos)

The Secretary for Development, Mrs Carrie Lam, today (March 19) visited Yuen Long to understand the latest development plans in Yuen Long town centre and Lau Fau Shan area.

Accompanied by the District Officer, Mr Yeung Tak-keung, Mrs Lam went to West Rail Long Ping Station to understand the ongoing and planned developments in Yuen Long town centre.

Joined by the Chairman of Yuen Long District Council, Mr Leung Che-cheung, Mrs Lam also went to Lau Fau Shan and visited shop owners there. She was briefed by the Planning Department on the consultancy study under way aiming to enhance the rural township in Lau Fau Shan and its surrounding areas for developing the place into a major tourism and recreational attraction.

Before concluding the visit, Mrs Lam met with members of Yuen Long District Council and exchanged views with them on issues of local concern.
