Water Supplies Department's provision of water supply services is ISO 9001:2000 certified (with photo)

The Water Supplies Department's quality management system governing the provision of water supply services is ISO (International Organisation for Standardisation) 9001:2000 certified. This signifies that the department has reached new heights in quality management.

At the certificate presentation ceremony today (May 6), the Director of Water Supplies, Mr Ma Lee-tak, said that over the years, the department has been giving its best endeavours to establish and optimise a modern, systematic and professional quality management system that complied with international standards so as to provide water supply service of the highest quality to the public.

“In order to fulfil customers' needs for the provision of quality water services, assuring reliability has always been one of the department's core values over the years,” Mr Ma said.

“Since the 1990s, a total of 11 functions of the department have been issued with the ISO 9000 series certificates. Today, we have successfully enhanced our quality management system to cover our provision of water supply services, ranging from raw water collection to water treatment and distribution of water to customers.

“The department will continue to strive for excellence and continuous improvement with a view to providing quality service to customers and the society,” he said.
