Slope safety exhibition opens in Sham Shui Po

The Geotechnical Engineering Office (GEO) of the Civil Engineering and Development Department will stage a four-day exhibition on slope safety and maintenance in Sham Shui Po starting on Friday (August 24).

The exhibition will convey to visitors messages on the importance of slope safety and proper maintenance through colourful display panels, video show and an information kiosk.

Opening from noon to 8pm, the exhibition will be held at Fortune Shopping Centre.  Information on landslip warnings and precautionary measures during heavy rain will be on display.

A geotechnical engineer from GEO’s Community Advisory Unit will conduct a "meet-the-public" session from 2pm to 5pm on Saturday (August 25) to answer questions on slope safety and slope maintenance. Quiz games will be held to help the public to understand more about the issue.

Enquiries on slope safety and maintenance can be made at the Citizen's Easy Link 1823. People are also welcome to browse through the Hong Kong Slope Safety website http://hkss.cedd.gov.hk/ for slope safety information.
