The Secretary for Development, Mr Michael Wong (third left), called on Singapore's Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Minister for Transport, Mr Khaw Boon Wan (second right), this morning (January 15) and they exchanged views on matters of mutual concern. The Principal Government Engineer, Mr John Kwong (second left), also attended the meeting.
This concluded Mr Wong's four-day visit to Singapore. He will return to Hong Kong later this afternoon.
Speaking on his visit to Singapore, Mr Wong said that it provided an opportunity to meet with senior government officials to share experiences and exchange views on issues relating to urban planning and development, the adoption of innovative construction technologies, promotion of green buildings and urban renewal. He also visited works projects using the modular integrated construction (MiC) method, as well as pre-cast yard and prefabrication fitting-out factories, which provided a useful reference for Hong Kong in its promotion of MiC.
