Appendix 3
Public Opinions
The Task Force on Land Supply (Task Force) has organised a five-month public engagement (PE) exercise from 26 April 2018 to 26 September 2018 to gauge views from the public on land supply options and relevant issues. During the PE period, members of the public could submit their views through the following channels:
The Task Force has received a total of 68 300 submissions from different organisations or individuals. These include submissions sent to the Task Force direct and the public opinions referred to the Task Force for reference by government bureaux/departments.
Except for submissions for which the senders/callers have requested that their views be kept confidential, the above submissions are published on this webpage and arranged, where possible, according to the date of receipt. The Task Force has not published 152 submissions for which the senders/callers have requested for confidentiality. Besides, the Task Force has removed the names on the submissions for which the senders/callers have requested for anonymity. Due to the large amount of submissions received, there may be errors and omissions in the compilation. The Task Force will make the appropriate amendments as appropriate.
Advertisements and Offensive Contents in the Submissions
The Task Force has removed all advertisements and offensive contents in the submissions. The content of the submissions is otherwise published in its entirety.
Handling of Personal Data
In order to protect the privacy of the senders/callers, the Task Force has removed the personal data of the senders/callers, such as email addresses, identity card numbers, telephone numbers, facsimile numbers, residential addresses and signatures, etc.
For some of the written submissions, the senders have not provided valid contact information and the Task Force is not able to ascertain whether they wish to disclose their identity when the views are published. Hence, the Task Force has removed their names from their submissions.
Handling of Copyright
Some submissions received contain newspaper cuttings, maps, published articles, information from the internet or extracts of books and magazines. As the information involves copyright, they are not published unless the senders have obtained written consent from the publishers or the copyright owners concerned.
Submissions Received after the End of PE
After the end of PE, as at 19 December 2018, we have received about 600 submissions. These submissions have been recorded, but not included in the analysis.
