SDEV to visit Xiamen and Ningbo

The Secretary for Development, Mr Paul Chan, will depart for Xiamen, Fujian, tomorrow (October 30) late afternoon to attend the World Cities Day Forum 2016. He will deliver a keynote speech at the forum.
      
The forum, organised by the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat), the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of the People's Republic of China, and the Fujian Provincial People's Government, will be held on October 31. This year's theme is "Inclusive Cities, Shared Development". Topics including city planning and design, management and sustainable development will be discussed.
      
Accompanying Mr Chan to the forum will be the Deputy Director of Planning (Territorial), Ms Phyllis Li.
      
Mr Chan will depart for Ningbo in the morning on November 1 to attend the 2016 Ningbo-Hong Kong Economic Cooperation Forum organised by the Ningbo Municipal People's Government and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council. He will speak at the opening ceremony.
      
During his stay in Ningbo, Mr Chan will meet with the officials of the Ningbo Municipality to exchange views and experience on the cities' development.
      
Mr Chan will return to Hong Kong in the morning on November 3. During Mr Chan's absence, the Under Secretary for Development, Mr Eric Ma, will act as Secretary for Development.
