Secretary for Development celebrates Chinese New Year with children and the elderly (with photos)

The Secretary for Development, Mrs Carrie Lam, today (January 27) joined a group of children and elderly people to celebrate the Chinese New Year.

Mrs Lam went to Lam Tsuen, Tai Po this morning to participate in the Lam Tsuen Chinese New Year Carnival, where she met a group of children and their families from Tung Chung sponsored by the Hong Kong Disneyland Resort to visit the historic village of Lam Tsuen and the famous wishing tree.

Also joining the function are the Chairman of Heung Yee Kuk, Mr Lau Wong-fat, Chairman of Tai Po District Council, Mr Cheung Hok-ming, and Tai Po District Officer, Mr Eddie Poon.

Mrs Lam then went to visit an 88-year-old elderly man who lived in Ancillary Facilities Block in Tsz Ching Estate, Wong Tai Sin, and joined a new year gathering attended by about 50 elderly people living in the same block.
