Open day of Shatin Sewage Treatment Works

Members of the public are invited to an open day at Shatin Sewage Treatment Works (STSTW) to be held on October 17.

Managed by the Drainage Services Department (DSD), STSTW is the largest secondary sewage treatment works in Hong Kong, serving a population of 600,000 in Shatin and Ma On Shan.

To coincide with the DSD's 20th anniversary this year, the open day will also serve to strengthen the department's relationship with the community through a comprehensive review of its work and services.  Through exhibition panels, 3D-models, video shows, and a visit to an information centre and sewage treatment facilities, the public will gain an understanding of drainage and sewerage development and infrastructure in Hong Kong over the past 20 years.

Free shuttle bus services will be provided at MTR University Station Bus Terminus, Pai Tau Street (Exit B of MTR Shatin Station) and On Chun Street (opposite Ma On Shan Park) from 9.30am to 4.30pm.

For more information, please visit the DSD's homepage at www.dsd.gov.hk or call the open day hotline at 2605 0780 during office hours.
