Tenders invited for construction of Wan Chai Development Phase II and Central-Wan Chai Bypass tunnel

The Civil Engineering and Development Department (CEDD) today (August 21) invites tenders for the construction of part of Wan Chai Development Phase II (WDII) and the section of the Central-Wan Chai Bypass (CWB) tunnel at Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.

This contract is one of the several contracts for the construction of the WDII and CWB.  The works under the contract include land formation and construction of the Central - Wan Chai Bypass tunnel at the water channel of Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, reprovisioning of the existing cross harbour water mains from Wan Chai to Tsim Sha Tsui and waterfront cooling water pumping systems, construction of stormwater box culvert and associated hinterland drainage improvement works.   

The works are scheduled to commence in December and will take about 76 months to complete.

The CEDD has commissioned AECOM Asia Company Limited to design and supervise the construction works under the contract.

The invitation for tender is gazetted today and the closing time for tender will be noon on October 16.
