DEVB and DSD win NEC awards in UK (2017/06/23)

The Principal Assistant Secretary (Works) of the Development Bureau, Mr Francis Leung (front row, seventh right), and the Chief Engineer (Drainage Projects) of the Drainage Services Department, Mr Kan Hon-shing (front row, sixth right), received awards on behalf of the Development Bureau and the Drainage Services Department respectively at the New Engineering Contract Awards 2017 prize presentation ceremony in London, the UK, yesterday (June 22, London time). Some of the New Engineering Contract pilot projects in Hong Kong: (i) Tseung Kwan O-Lam Tin Tunnel - Road P2 and associated works (top left); (ii) Retrofitting of Noise Barriers on Tai Po Tai Wo Road near Po Nga Court (bottom, first left); (iii) Happy Valley Underground Stormwater Storage Scheme (bottom, centre); (iv) Design and Construction of Tin Shui Wai Hospital (bottom right); (v) Improvement of Fresh Water Supply to Cheung Chau (right, second top); and (vi) Photovoltaic System at the Siu Ho Wan Sewage Treatment Works and Three Energy-related Studies (top right).
Adopting the New Engineering Contract form, the Happy Valley Underground Stormwater Storage Scheme of the Drainage Services Department was fully commissioned in March this year, about a year ahead of schedule.
